Hi Jason,
Sorry it took me so long to reply to your email about writing a testimonial. I'd like to write one and also say thanks again for your help.
I'm really glad I went with ASKNOW to apply for a teaching job in Korea. Your website is full of useful information and I read every single page to get as much information as I could. I know there are some people out there like me that want to know everything and want answers to all their questions. I think you and your team did a great job answering my questions and providing me with detailed information to guide me through every step of the application process. That is exactly what I needed!
Even after I completed the application, you've been in contact with me just to see how everything is going. I don't think many recruiters keep in touch after we start our teaching jobs. I've been here for 2 months and I get emails and invites to social events even while your team is in the midst of another big recruitment period.
As far as living and working in Korea, I love it! It might seem too good to be true that so many people have written wonderful things about their experience teaching in Korea, but I hope you believe us when we say that it's great. You have to experience it for yourself. And it's important to understand that everyone has a different situation. I really lucked out and love everything about my job. I have a great school, great co-teachers and administrators, helpful landlord and landlady, and a very good location. I live 5 minutes away from my school and I have an open market and restaurants right next to my apartment. And, most important, I love teaching. Sometimes my students are not cooperative (I'm at a middle school), but I enjoy talking to them and hearing them say "Hi Teacher!" every time I walk into the classroom.
All the best on your journey to teaching English in Korea!
-Maria A.
