Since graduating college I’ve bounced between Los Angeles and New York City. I majored in Studio Art and have used my BFA for everything and… I’ve worked as an assistant publicist, awards coordinator, fine arts painter, sculptor, interior decorator, creative director, inventor, small business owner, model – you name it. I met each new challenge with gusto and the result was always my definition of success. Once done, I’d want something more. The truth is that I became an artist to travel, an inventor and business owner to, you guessed it, travel. Yet it seemed I was doing everything but traveling. One day while feeling thoroughly over myself I pulled up Google and typed “paid to travel” into the search engine.
Thus was the beginning of my journey to South Korea. My time here has been filled with adventure, self-reflection and the start of my first real savings account! I’ve met people who are looking to shake things up; artists taking a sort of paid sabbatical; recent grads looking to travel and save; retirees in search of a second life. Some have previous teaching experience and others like me, do not. Yet none have been disappointed and no one would do it differently. I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I’m enjoying living and writing it.
